Palin Spending Spree More Extensive Than Previously Reported
With the election over, McCain campaign aides are no longer holding back their displeasure with Sarah Palin. Newsweek is reporting that it was Palin who ordered expensive clothes for herself and her family. What’s more, the final bill came out to tens of thousands more than the $150,000 (Republicans Spent $150,000 on Palin Clothing & Makeup) previously reported .
NEWSWEEK has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.
MORE REVELATIONS
Palin wanted to speak along with McCain at his concession speech, but a top McCain aide turned down her request.
McCain himself rarely spoke to Palin during the campaign, and aides kept him in the dark about the details of her spending on clothes because they were sure he would be offended. Palin asked to speak along with McCain at his Arizona concession speech Tuesday night, but campaign strategist Steve Schmidt vetoed the request.
During the RNC convention in St. Paul, Palin greeted McCain campaign staff only wearing a towel. Not very vice-presidential.
At the GOP convention in St. Paul, Palin was completely unfazed by the boys’ club fraternity she had just joined. One night, Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter went to her hotel room to brief her. After a minute, Palin sailed into the room wearing nothing but a towel, with another on her wet hair. She told them to chat with her laconic husband, Todd. “I’ll be just a minute,” she said.

I’m sure all those people who contributed to their campaign are just thrilled to see her spending all that money on herself. What a joke. The rumor is that McCain spent only an hour interviewing Palin before making his decision. That shows how he would act as president, and so America made the right choice yesterday.
Say good bye to Sarah here:

My thanks to the administrator of this site and all the contributors! To see Ms. Palin not become VP is quite rewarding…
BUT DO NOT TAKE DOWN THE SITE!!!
Should Ted Stevens be forced to step down, or resign on his own, it is up to Palin to appoint his replacement. There is nothing to stop her from appointing herself (As per Meet the Press this past Sunday morning - 11/2/08)
Godspeed President Elect!

DO NOT TAKE IT DOWN
even more importantly because Sarah Palin may try
a run for President in 4 or 8 or even 12 years from now.
This site should keep monitoring her all the way through so no one forget who she is and everything that coems with it.

I agree.
According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, 64% of Republicans want Palin to run for president in 2012. Plus, Palin seems to love being in the spotlight. Unfortunately, I’m sure that we haven’t heard the last from her.
Also, does anyone know when Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are going to get married?

Quite frankly, as a New Yorker and world traveller, I thought the $150,000 figure was too low. I can also understand donor generousity abuse, I’ve been a victim of it. For example, I invited guests to a private country club (USA) once and asked them to put their meals, champagne, etc. on my bill. I was shocked at the spending for personal clothing at the club’s high-end pro shop. It told me a lot about the characters of the guests. They weren’t considerate or modest, on the contrary they were abusive and had no class. Class is something money can buy, it is a form of behavior and how one deals with things.

Correction: can’t buy, not “can buy” (last sentence).

Well a beautiful woman’s got to look good while in the public eye. Maybe we have another Jacki O–stylish and gorgous. That’s fine by me. I don’t expect her to know everything. I’m sure even Obama has to be briefed on things that he doesn’t know enough about. Palin was thrust into the world spotlight. Geeze, give her a little time. She may surprise the best of us. She’s not stupid. Far from it.

It is amazing that people believe anything MCCain’s people claim…Until she came to the RNC Sarah wore her own clothes. Walks into her hotel room and there is three racks of clothes for her and her family. While that wasn’t enough they took her father to Neiman Marcus and told he had to purchase additional items.
Some might say this is just a big fan, however since Sarah has kept journels her entire life, I believe her over the McCain goons.
I do think that people don’t take the time to get to know someone. We take media for the truth when we all know that the media does what it wants.
Did the McCain’s pick for her looks, maybe..Did they attempt to change a person for their benefits? Yes..
Take the time to really learn about the facts before you just take on face value

Yay Christina, you said it!
And I cannot believe people are shocked by this when all politicians and their spouses do this? I mean exactly what do people think their contributions get used for? Poster board, sharpies and glitter glue? No they get used for the gas, the 5 star hotels and lush dining, and to pay those people who aren’t volunteers, advertisements and yes, clothing. And yet out of all the ladies in this campaign, Sarah donated her clothes to charity when it was over. I believe the rest kept theirs. Obama spouted one key word, “change” and the sheep followed.
And as for the comment Wasilla Hillbillies… I guess you did’nt know that Wasilla is in a valley.

Thanks so much to the Clinton campaign for making sure that personal characteristics don’t apply in a presidential election. In the end none of this will matter. Any expert knows the demographic gap currently being filled by Sarah Palin. You would do better to try and plug a black hole.
