McCain Aides Reveal Palin Clueless About Civics, Thought Africa Was A Country, Didn’t Know NAFTA Countries, Threw Tantrums, Shopaholic

with 46 comments

McCain aides are letting it all out. Campaign insiders told Fox News:
- Sarah Palin didn’t know basic civics, such as municipal, state, and federal government responsibilities.
- She didn’t know the nations involved in NAFTA (i.e. U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico).
- She thought Africa was a country instead of a continent.
- She threw tantrums.
- She was a shopaholic.

  1. That woman is an idiot, she perhaps might even have a thought that Africans are monkeys, well I dont blame her.

I see Jeff couldn’t resist taking a jab at African Americans huh? Kind of sad, because I’ve honestly enjoyed his commentary up until this point. It must have been a sad Nov 4 when you realized one of those “monkeys” was now your President for the next 4 years.

It’s stuff like this that makes me not give 1 crap about sad and tragic events that happen to people and/or their children. As soon as something happens, the first thing people do is whine and cry about what a great person he or she was/is. I wonder if that person peers/family know about the hate a bigotry people spew out over the Internet for no good reason.

Surely, every Palin-hater out there knows who participates in NAFTA, so why bother reminding them of who the participants are while simultaneously bashing Palin? see: (i.e. Canada, US, Mexico)

News flash: The vast majority of Obama voters don’t know what NAFTA is either!

  2. I usually am nice to/about people even if I disagree with them, but Sarah Palin as a U. S. public servant is underqualified, ignorant, know-it-all who knows too little, sexist (she uses sexuality as a weapon), bratty, shallow, uncultivated, uncultured twit. I can’t imagine Cindy McCain calling her “my friend”. Sorry for losing my diplomacy; to me Palin just supports the prejudices and jokes that the rest of the civilzed world makes about the USA. She should forget about her fantasies and read some books.

    Gary W Reply:

Jasmine, you’re the only one here who even skirts the real issue, which is NOT Sarah Palin. It is the fact that McCan would pick her with so little research, and the Republican party bigwigs would support her so solidly despite her obvious drawbacks. The more she was exposed, the more they defended her. It was power-drunk madness at its worst.

The issue now is the Republcans’ integrity. They weren’t content with putting an idiot (Quayle) next to the nuclear trigger; they had to go out and find a lunatic! Americans MUST banish them to oblivion.

  3. The sad thing is the way she wore her ignorance of world and current affairs like a badge of honour.
It was rather amazing to listen to the republican talking heads speak of her in glowing terms as if she was bringing anything of substance to the table. How on earth does one hold a straight face when speaking of Sarah Palin and being qualified and experienced in the same breath.
She is a half idiot and the whole world could see it right from the beginning. I hope she is banished to that little Alaskan island that you can see Russia from, with the specific task of warning us when Putin “rasies his little head in our airspace”.

  4. Well, the sniping is certainly interesting to watch. The examples may be exaggerated somewhat, but it is obvious to all who have viewed the Gibson and Couric interviews, and who have decried the absolute prohibition of press conferences or open questions to the Governor, that there was some concern about her ability to perform. If not, why didn’t they trot her out early on to dispel all of this? They did not because of their fear that the mask would slip and all would be exposed.
Still, it is fascinating to hear the bloggers on the right dismiss Obama’s “cult of personality” while enjoying and promoting the very same for Governor Palin. In her case, however, there is little or no substance behind the celebrity!

  5. (As everyone posting to this site knows, I am no fan of Sarah Palin, so the comments that follow are not meant to defend her or justify her actions during the campaign.)

The level of hypocrisy demonstrated by members of McCain’s campaign is truly beyond comprehension. In the view of these brilliant campaign strategists, they did nothing wrong; the fault is all Palin’s. (At least McCain was realistic enough to accept responsibility for his own defeat.) I have only one question for these twits:

WHO DO THEY THINK PICKED HER TO BE THE REPUBLICAN VICE-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE???

  6. The bottom line is McCain ran a dirty low down, lying, mind game playing campaign. He thought He could make it to the white house with smoke and mirrors and He underestimated the American People’s intellegence to see through His B.S. I have absolutely no sympathy for McCain and He manipulating ways…It caught up with Him and I am forever grateful. He is not worthy of the Presidency.

As far as Palin is concerned she was waaaay out of Her depth and I blame her for excepting a position she knew she was NOT qualified to hold. She allowed her ambition to get ahead of her knowledge and as a result she made a fool of herself in front of the entire world. She allowed them to use her as an attack dog but what she did not anticipate was the fact that when you attack someone people are going to hold you to the same standards that you expect from the one you attacked. I hope and pray I never hear from McCain and Palin again as long as I live.

The world desperately needs people now who will at least attempt to address and seek solutions to our many, and very real problems. John McCain and Sarah Palin were only interested in themselves, not you or me, or the world in which we live. You cannot find solutions to problems that you don’t understand, and they had neither the desire nor the ability to seek that.

  14. I hope the owner of this site keeps updating it. I used to think SP was just a clueless hick, but now that she quit her job after 2.5 years, it’s clear that responsibility for a comittment is less important that self-interest. It’s not that she left, but the lame-assed reason she gave for doing so. To me, she said “After the excitment of running for VP, I just can’t find the motivation to do my job. I’m going to quit and starting getting ready to do it again in 2012″. The state of Alaska is well to be rid of her, IMO. Now, if we can just make sure she is ON the ticket in 2012 to insure Obama’s re-election…!!!

However, neither McCain, his wife and staff, nor the Replican Party should bear all of the “blame” for such a fiasco. Americans are generally “celebrity” focused and terribly uninformed about history, civics, geography, other nations and their cultures–and the spelling of their own language!!

  19. I have supported the Republican party for 30 years. I voted for a Democrat for the first time in the last presidential election. There are many ideals that I still support however I see right wing Republicans going down a road that I believe could tear this country apart. I felt that none of the individuals running in the primary on the Republican ticket as qualified. McCain won the nomination and may have had a shot at the presidency until Palin was selected as his running mate. It was at that point that I actively begin campaigning for Obama. To think that Sarah Palin could have been a heartbeat away from being out comander and chief was terrifying.
What surprises and saddens me is that there seems to be an exterme right wing faction of the Republican party that is not only disrespectful of the president of our country, they are determined spread foundless propaganda about him. Seriously people, start focusing on the issues. You are doing your party more harm than good. How many other dissenfranchised Republicans are there out there?

You don’t think it’s possible that the aids might be lying?? People believe it because they want to. There is no court of law that would convict someone based on the words of a few people. No one, but no one should be attacked based on a few people’s words. I am sure if it was one of your loved one’s and someone put out a bunch of trash and basically gossip, how would you defend that?? 21. If this is the best the Republican party can muster for the next presidential election cycle it should make the choice pretty easy. This woman is a liability to her party. Somehow a woman standing in front of the world telling an interviewer when she can’t answer basic questions “We’ll get back witcha on that one” does not inspire confidence.

Having said that. what was I thinking? We elected someone of similar intellect as president when we elected George W. Bush. So I guess anything is possible. Oh wait….was he really elected? I forget it was so confusing. A hanging chad here, a hanging chad there. Appointment by the supreme court……hmmmm now that is a new one.

Maintain her ‘legit’ face to the public appearing on Conan O’Brien, and is SNL reappearence far behind? This politician is not qualified, period. McCain selected her to appease the far conservative wing of the Republican party of the Huckabee’s. She has never shown an interest in the people of her state, and has constantly said/done things to placate the industry that best supports her agenda (thanks, but no thanks to the bridge, Exxon Valdez civil court rewards to those damaged/wildlife destroyed, ANWR, whatever big business says to support she will eventually). I am waiting for her to call Iran a THREAT to all peace loving nations (which we are not one of, with two wars going on, a third (Korea in a stalemate since 1952) waiting)while quoting Revalations in her sleep. She is a demiguoge (sic) of the worst type–the one that won’t fade away. If she was physically repulsive, she would have no creditibility with Fox and company, but she makes a nice soundbite.
