Track Palin Involved in Vandalism Rampage - Real Reason for Army Enlistment?
Sarah Palin has not been afraid to emphasize that her oldest son Track has joined the Army and will soon be sent to Iraq. While commentators have questioned her ethics for trying to use her son’s military service for political advantage, there are now concerns Gov. Palin may have also concealed the true reason behind her son’s hasty enlistment, something which would put him in a less than flattering light.
There are now allegations that her son Track was involved in a vandalism rampage a couple of years earlier and that his run-in with the law contributed to his decision to enlist in the Army.
On December 5, 2005, the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman reported that Alaska State Troopers had arrested four teenage boys for the previous week’s vandalism of school buses. The boys deflated the tires of 44 buses, broke mirrors and unplugged 110 buses from their engine-block heaters, which caused the buses not to start in subzero weather. The incident was serious enough to force the school district to close schools for a day on November 29.
One of the boys was identified as 18-year-old Deryck Harris. State troopers refused to release the names of the 3 other boys, ages 16, 17, and 17, because they were juveniles. However, the mother of one of the juvenile suspects confirmed her son David Coon was involved in the incident. Two of the boys, including Coon, attended Burchell High School. The other two were students at Wasilla High School.
The boys were each charged with third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. In addition, the 16-year-old was also charged with fourth-degree theft and furnishing alcohol to a minor. He was alleged to have stolen a bottle of vodka from a local liquor store.
A progressive Alaska radio station (Newstalk 1080 Kudo) reported on September 2, 2008 that the 16-year-old boy in the story was actually Track Palin. The station cited an unnamed judicial source. A recording of the radio broadcast is not yet available.
However, the story has been picked up by a local Anchorage public television station.
Nellie Moore and Steve MacDonald on KAKM Channel 7, Anchorage Edition (September 5, 2008):
MacDonald is quick to note that the local radio station may be biased given its liberal stance; however, he was not previously familiar with the story and could not comment on its authenticity. The host Nellie Moore, who is familiar with the report, did seem very much convinced.
Curiously, Track Palin spent six months of his senior year with a host family in Portage, Michigan. His mother took him out of Wasilla High School and sent him to Michigan for the 2006/2007 school year. The Kalamazoo Gazette is reporting that Track came to the Midwest hoping he would be picked up by college hockey recruiters in the area, this despite the fact that he was already a star hockey player for the competitive Alaska All-Stars team.
One has to wonder whether Sarah Palin had any hand in her son’s decision to leave Wasilla. After all, it would not be the first time that Sarah Palin took one of her troubled kids out of school. She did the same thing when she learned of her teenage daughter Bristol’s pregnancy.
Track Palin’s involvement in the vandalism incident could no doubt have influenced his later decision to enlist in the Army. There have been allegations in the past that Sarah Palin and her husband Todd push their son to enlist in the military. The latest news appear to lend more credence to those allegations.
If this is true, how can I possibly give her and Mcain my vote? Vandal son, pregnant daughter, If she can’t take care of her family, how is she going to help run a country? I feel sorry for her children. It is so obvious they are starving for her attention. I doubt she will spend any time with her newborn, unless it’s for a photo op. She is a GIMMICK GIMMICK GIMMICK.

It drives me crazy that this woman hasn’t dropped out yet. How can she do this to her family? Didn’t she know this was all going to come out?
And the McCain campaign is even worse. They’re trying to “recreate” her. They still keep telling people she was against the Bridge to Nowhere. Even in their ads on TV. They know as long as you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.
I’m really disappointed with the press and the TV networks. They’re obviously not working hard enough to get this all out.

I can’t wait to see how Obama’s children turn out!! I mean he’s obviously not spending any time with them they are just to young to have acted out yet. I can’t believe people can’t see how children in their teenage years act out period. It doesn’t mean your not a good mother. Just because your a working mom doesn’t mean your not a good one and some of you should be so lucky to have children like hers. Her children are not perfect and neither is she no big surprise there. Which one of you commentors have raised 5 children with no slip ups? Do any of you even have teenagers?

FYI: If you took the time to know the Obamas, you’d know that Michelle Obama almost always makes a point to be home every night, no matter where she has been doing the day on the campaign stump; her stay-at-home classy and elegant Mother, who was also a stay-at-home Mom for both Michelle and her brother Craig, when they were children, has the sole care for Barack’s and Michelle’s daughter, when they are away. Both girls are very bright children of (very intelligent and well-educated parents), which they attend a magnet school in the public school system of Chicago. These precious little girls are privy to have their father return home very often to tuck them in, attend their activities and share quality family time. NOTE: There is no drama with the Obamas.
No, we do not know how they will turn out, but all bets are waged that it will be very similar to their parents, who honest, charitable, loving educated “community organizers.”
Barack and Michelle did not lie about their upbringing and their past; they do not have a cemetery of skeletons like the McCains and the Palins. Obama does not claim to be righteous and as Wendy above stated, espouse to an agenda of a conservative evangelical value base. He has very strong family value, but he does not “preach to the choir.”
Sarah Palin has many lies, secrets and enemies. Recognize, if it were Obama’s kids, you’d call it an outrage and a crisis; but since it is a Republican, it is viewed as “courageous, loving and supportive.”
You can either vote for the most viable candidates, Obama/Biden or the Jerry Springer Gang.

I have two adult children. In their teens, they acted out in minor ways but NEVER felt the need to destroy public or private property. I think that point needs to be made to you, Amy.
I would like to see you sit down at your computer and begin to read EVERY article from as many news sources that you can find. Write down the pro’s and con’s for Palin. Actually THINK this through. You are obviously an emotional voter, not a thinking one. Again, most teens are not destructive in their ‘acting out’!

As for myself, there is no way I could, in good conscience vote for a ticket with Palin on it. While I can appreciate her determination and apparent strengths, I simply disagree with virtually EVERYTHING she has supported in the past.
On that note, If John McCain was the same man that ran against W in 2000, he just might have gotten my vote. Back then McCain did stand up for himself, he never towed the party line if his conscience was against the issue. Whatever the Rove smear machince has over McCain, he has run around practically brown nosing Bush rather than stand for something ever since Bush got the GOP nomination in 2000.

Palin has risen to that “STAR” status that McCain so loved to bash Obama with. She is on all the celebrity magazines and stories on trash celebrity tv shows. People start chanting for her rather than McCain at campaign events. It’s becoming Palin/McCain instead of McCan/Palin. This scary because people are chanting for her like a celebrity it is sickening. People think she is bringing something new but she believes in some of the most out dated ideals in this campaign. She against birth control for God sakes and knows nothing about foreign policy and wanted to ban books in her home town and is for creationism in schools and against equal pay for women. She might be all young shiny on the out side but she has clear agenda to do nothing but legislate whatever the old boys club wants to do with women’s lives.

So, if the boy indeed was one of the vandals, I would hope that he has learned to be ashamed of himself. I would classify those kids as immature and criminal (let’s not forget theft and illegal abuse of alchohol was involved). If the Palin kid was involved, I would clssify him as a spoiled brat with social and moral deficits. As a “rich” kid, it’s even worse to be involved in criminal activities. Parents often don’t see the forest through the trees. Alaska’s population is sparse, what is there to do for Information Age teenagers besides pretending to be part of their local church (to please their families) and spending time on the shooting range? We must forgive a misguided youth (although parents should take some blame, they should know better), one of these vandals might win a Nobel Prize some day.
As to the Obama girls (someone commented above), I see them developing into fine young women; it seems both parents have a grip on child rearing and have developed a structured, consistant environment with limits for their children. I approve.

Palin is not objectionable as a VP candidate because of her childrens’ exploits, but because of her utter lack of experience on the word stage, and her cast of mind. Please don’t say she’s the governor of “the ‘biggest’ state in the Union”–3X more people live in my borough. She is under-educated, over-ambitious, and illiberal–yes, look it up, it is an adjective, and means “narrow-minded”. If what I’ve read recently can be believed, she is also a racist (her church, for example, says “Israel is getting its just desserts for not accepting Jesus as its Savior”), and she is even being described by the mainstream media as “divisive”. Combine that with the fact that she has only recently applied for a passport (!)–real curious about the rest of the world, isn’t she?!? But then again, Cindy McCain feels she has foreign policy chops because, after all, Alaska is right next door to Russia! AAARGHH! This is what John McCain picks as his running mate?? She is an insult to America!!!

Let’s go back 3 clicks to appreciate the trickle down affect that I see happening here. Nobody really knows much about Prescott Bush, do they? DO YOU!!!? He’s Georgie Boy’s grandfather. The guy who helped fund Adolf Hitler, all the way to, and including, building the ovens to gas the Jews. The only reason he stopped is because we stopped him. But his son and grandson are still working the family recipe for Empire. Prescott was also a key player in getting rid of Dr. Mossedegh who was the first democratically elected leader of Iraq. The Carlyle Group sells weapons to Saudi Arabia, which they buy with our oil money. Those weapons go on to kill our soldiers. Come to think of it, on 9/11, there was not one damn Iraqi on the plane, but there were 13 Saudis.
Why did we not go after the Saudi’s on 9/11? They are Bush family friends and we get gobs and gobs of Oil from them. Pretty much every important official in the Bush Administration is from the Oil industry. President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary of State Rice (who actually had a Chevron oil tanker named after her until she took the SOS position), Commerce Secretary Evans, former Bush economic Advisor Lindsey, and finally, James Baker, the Carlyle honcho who’s firm represents oil companies AND the Saudi royal family.
The Bush administration has cut spending for projects that would have improved energy efficiency, still continues to suggest that global warming is a fallacy, and now has half the American public chanting “Drill now, Drill now”! All the oil profits that will come out of the RNC will be a nice going away present for GDUBYA, dontcha think?

If anyone really took the time to investigate people and issues for themself, maybe we would have better “leaders” for our country. Unfortunately Tom, you have just scratched the ugly surface of the Bush family history and how it has been intwined in US history with many notable figures.
George HW Bush was named after George H Walker, I believe he was the father of GHW Bush’s mother. There was also a Samuel Bush, I believe he was GWB’s uncle or great uncle. While Prescott was involved with Hitler, I think it was Samuel that had his business confiscated for dealing with the enemy… at that time it was China.
Notable names that have been involved with questionable dealings with the Bush Dynasty… Mellon, of the Mellon bank… Harriman, former governor of New York… the Dulles brothers, deeply involved with Texas and the JFK assassination and later elevated to nice government jobs… Rockefellers, former owner of Remington which sold TONS of ammunition to Hitler, the steel mills for the major railways in this country with further ties to Hitler… and the list goes on and on and on… just like the Energizer bunny

When you get to the truth of what’s happened here, you will see George Bush standing on the ruins of a once great country, and John McCain standing in line to continue the same agenda.

Why did Bristol Palin cheat on her boyfriend Levi with a Black guy from L.A. who stayed in Wasilla this past Spring/Summer and get pregnant by him then lie about who the real baby’s father is? What is going to happen when the real dad sues to have a DNA test done and Bristol has already married Levi. This guy is really dark skinned. What if Bristol’s baby comes out Black? Will they have it killed and call it a stillbirth like in the old South whenever a white woman had a black man’s child?

I Do Not Believe Track Joined The Army With The Right Intentions Because Yes He Knew All Of The Boys Who Did The Vandalism And Therefor Was Probally In The Same Kind Of Trouble They Were. And Although Track was friends With Them He Was Not Directly Involved In This Incident. I Do Not Support Sarah In Any Way Shape Or Form. Maybe because growing in the town where Sarah was Mayor for years I saw first hand all of her lies and scandals. I Believe Sarah “supporting” Bristol In Having Her Baby Is More An Effort Of Keeping Face. I Had My Child When I Was 16 so I Probally Dont Have Much Room To Talk But I Support Bristol In Her Journey To MotherHood. But I DO NOT support Sarah. Thats one of my best friends and he left wasilla to go play for a triple A team down in kalamazoo because he was good enough for them to want him, his mom did not send him away. Yah track was awesome up here but how can a hockey player get exposed when you live at least 3,000 miles away from a good college with a good college hockey team, i should know i played hockey my whole life, a good portion of it with track. And saying he did all that vandalism, give me a brake i know the people who did it, everyone who was in highschool in the vally up here knew who did it and they will all tell you that it was NOT! I know this is really, really old news BUT- Bristol was 16 at the time this was printed. Track joined the service AFTER graduation making him around 18 NOT the 16 year ols juvenile vandal. How could he possibly have been the vandal here and escaping jail by going in the army? Are 16 year olds even allowed to join the service these days?? I suggest all the haters actually read Sarah’s book. She is a true patriot. And btw- name calling is not intelligent discourse.
